James Bond’s Suits: Evolution of Style

We’re all awaiting Spectre. The bad news is we’ve got to hold on until autumn for the release. The great news is you can bring a little Bond into your life now with this new guide to James Bond’s inimitable style.

We’re taking a close look at Bond’s wardrobe thanks to an interesting infographic from Shade Station. If you want to be a bit more Bond, check out this guide to how his style has evolved since the days of Sean Connery in Dr.No.

Sean Connery was surely the most classically styled Bond of them all. He wore his suits and his accessories with effortless elegance. Roger Moore managed to pull off the look through his larger-than-life personality. The white dinner jacket is undeniably seventies. But you can’t deny that those Bogner sunglasses really made him stand out.

Timothy Dalton is pure 80s, in a highly masculine way. The wool suits and the leather car coat are stylish without looking like he’s trying too hard. With Pierce Brosnan we get a powerful, jet-setting Bond with his own unique style that is still quintessentially 007. We’d love a pair of those blue-tinted x-ray glasses, too.

But it’s Daniel Craig who really gets the Bond look right. His beautifully-cut Tom Ford suits in Skyfall and those sunglasses are pure elegance with an edge. And who could forget those swimming trunks? Practically no other man could carry that look off. But that’s Bond through and through – always unexpected, and always standout in the style stakes.
